Youth Engagement in CVE: A Confluence of Policy & Practice, University of Chittagong

On July 8, 2018, Think Twice, Act Wise organized a workshop and a summit on “Youth Engagement in CVE: A Confluence of Policy & Practice” at Faculty of Business Studies, University of Chittagong. The daylong event was attended by the various stakeholders working in the concerned field. The chief guest was Professor Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor, University of Chittagong. The event was moderated by Asif M Shahan, Associate Professor at Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. In the workshop, the participants worked in small groups, brainstormed on the possible drivers that lead young generation to extremism and subsequently produced a number of recommendations that need to be accommodated in National policy on countering violent extremism. Later on the day, experts working in the field of CVE- government official, law enforcement agency, academician- highlighted their expertise regarding CVE. The insights generated from the workshop were also disseminated to the ‍summit participants to make them resilient about various aspects of extremism in the country.
